Saskia van Kampen (MDes, RGD) is a graphic designer with experience in editorial design, wayfinding signage, corporate branding, consulting and illustration. Major achievements involve her inclusion into the Canadian Postal Archives (Philatelic Heritage), Library and Archives Canada (Collections Canada) for design of several postage stamp issues. She is currently working independently as a graphic designer with numerous Toronto clients. In 2013 Saskia was awarded the Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarship for her Masters research through SSHRC. Her personal design projects focus on the intersection of design and craft, and involves a cross-pollination between various disciplines including painting, printmaking, typography and sewing. Presently she is using stitching to explore different techniques of disrupting design conventions, and to inform the practice-based approach of her teaching methodology.
