Serge Lemoyne (1941-1998)

Serge Lemoyne was born in Acton Vale in 1941. In the mid-sixties, Lemoyne takes an important part of Quebec’s artistic scene. Lemoyne will be alternately the man of the happening, of the live painting, the organizer and the social agitator, the artist of the sound, visual and electronic mediums. Today, he is considered as one of the most prominent Quebec painters of his time due to a personal pictorial practice that presents a kind of synthesis of the big post-war plastic movements from here and there.
